01. Read Mark 1:21-28. Why does Jesus start his teaching ministry the way He does? Think both setting and manner.
02. What difference was there between Jesus’ teaching and that of the scribes? How might His authority make His actual teaching look different?
03. Why do you think this demon possessed man went to this service? What might Satan have been trying to accomplish?
04. Why should the teaching of Jesus be the primary focus, and the miracles/healings of Jesus be seen as a companion aspect to His teaching? What is the danger of making Jesus’ miracles the primary focus, void of His teaching?
05. What keeps you from feeling the weight of Jesus’ words in Scripture? How can we see the authority of Jesus as the One and Ultimate Authority of our lives?
