Facility Rental

Facility Rental Requests

Church Building Guidelines:

01. The facilities of The Summit are designed to promote a Christ-like spirit of fellowship.

02. Any program or meeting that is detrimental to this cause is prohibited.

03. The facilities are intended to be used for worship and other church related activities. They may also be used for weddings or other events approved by the Associate Minister, DJ Pittman. For these approved events (non-church related) food or drink may be served in the facilities with permission. However, popcorn is prohibited in any carpeted areas of the building.

04. Members and non-members are required to contact the Associate Minister, DJ Pittman, for reserving the church (dj@thesummitstl.com). The Associate Minister maintains the church calendar and all requests must be made through him.

05. Cleaning: The person(s) or groups making the reservation will be responsible for making sure the building and grounds are left clean. With the exception of church-wide functions, it will be the responsibility of the group using the church to take care of the removal of garbage. A general cleaning fee will be part of the facility rental fee.

06. Heating/cooling and thermostat controls: It is suggested that the person making the reservation also be responsible to call the church office (636) 978-4545 approximately 24 hours before the building is needed and remind them of the event and climate control needs.

07. Church furnishings: If any furniture is moved it is requested that it be returned to where it was originally located. Be aware that there is sensitive sound equipment that should not be moved. If there are any questions about where furniture should be located, please ask.

08. Decorations: Any candles used in the service should be no-drip candles. Do not drive any nails into walls or baseboards. No tape can be applied to walls or painted surfaces. Please refrain from using glitter or confetti.

09. Furnishings inside the church building are not to be placed outdoors unless special permission is granted. There is no smoking inside the building. These rules cover basic policies of The Summit. They are solely for the purpose of taking care of the physical property of our church building. If you have special needs or requests that are outside the designated boundaries stated above, you may address them to the office administrator who will communicate with the elders. The elders have the final word on the use of The Summit property.

Basic Usage Guidelines

The Summit will set up the number of tables requested up to 27 rounds.

** If you require more than 27 round tables you will need to rent additional tables from another vendor. Please make arrangements and contact the associate minister to coordinate delivery and pick ups, (636) 978-4545 or dj@thesummitstl.com.

Renters are responsible to do the following when cleaning up:

  • Tear down all tables and put them on storage racks in the storage room.
  • If paying the additional clean up fee, stack all chairs against the back wall in the sanctuary (in groups of 6 high).
  • Vacuum the sanctuary.
  • Clean, vacuum and organize the lobby, replacing all furniture, if any was used or moved, to its original location unless otherwise specified.
  • As a general rule, leave everything just as you found it.
  • Please clean up any mess that you have created including sweeping the floors and mopping if necessary, unless other arrangements have been made.
  • Please do not use any Church equipment. If you need a projector, sound system, etc. indicate this request on your reservation form and a technician will operate the equipment for an additional fee.
  • Before leaving, make sure all toilets are flushed, sinks cleaned, and no water is left running. Turn off all lights and lock the doors.
  • Refill any toilet paper, hand towels or soap if stalls have been emptied. These supplies can be found in the worship kitchen on the metal shelving inside the door.
  • Please take the trash with you when you leave, and replace trash bags in the cans. Trash can be dumped in the dumpster on the northwest corner of the office building which can be accessed behind the worship center (*please do not dump trash in the dumpsters by Metro Lighting*)
  • Please leave the outside area clean and free of trash.

Marraige guidelines

The following information is provided to help with your plans and to make you aware of church building use policies. The attached form must be filled out and on file at the church office before permission will be granted for the use of church property. Summit Church defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

The Date

Before announcing the date, the Associate Minister, DJ Pittman (if you will be using any of the buildings or grounds of Summit Church) should be contacted and verbal confirmation made. This date will only be finalized after the Church Reservation and Policies form has been signed and submitted. If a prior request is made, but not followed with the submission of the proper form, then the church will consider the date “still open” and available for other requests. In addition active members of the Summit Church will be given first choice of dates for reservation of church facilities. However, if a non-church member or group has requested in writing the use of the church, Summit Church will honor the commitment. Please note that Sunday weddings require special planning because the church usually has activities throughout the day and Sundays are generally very busy for pastors and other church personnel.

The Time

No wedding should begin after 6:00 p.m. if scheduled for a Saturday. This allows time for clean-up and set-up after the service for Sunday services.

The Marriage License

State law requires a marriage license. In the state of Missouri, the license is secured at the Recorder of Deeds Office in each county. In St. Charles County, the address is Recorder of Deeds, St. Charles County Administration Building, 201 N. Second Street, Suite 338, St. Charles, MO 63301. Time is required for all forms to be filled out. Do not wait till the last minute for this requirement to be done. The pastor prefers to have the license in hand at the rehearsal or preferably well in advance. Obtaining the license is the responsibility of the bride and groom.

Premarital Counseling

The Summit Church requires at least 6 to 12 counseling sessions with the bride and groom prior to the wedding. Several individuals and/or couples are available to teach these sessions. It is recommended that you begin the sessions 6 months prior to the wedding so that everyone’s schedule can be accommodated. Counseling time is reserved for the purpose of sharing Biblically based principles on marriage. Each session usually takes about one hour. Additional time may be scheduled to discuss any plans for the wedding. It is the responsibility of the bride and grooms to schedule these sessions.

Musicians and Music

Wedding music should be selected with great care. It is recommended that musical selections be cleared with either the Associate Minister or Worship Minister.

Pastor or Other Clergy

There may be an occasion when a couple will want someone other than one of our pastors to perform the wedding ceremony. Please visit with one of our pastors if you have questions or desire to use someone else. The policy of Summit Church requires it be a pastor from a church of like faith. The elders have the final authority on the use of a pastor other than a pastor from the Summit.

Church Policies

Refer to “Church Building Guidelines” and “Basic Usage Guidelines" above.
